Coffee Table Makeover

This coffee table was well used. The botttom shelf was cracked
an the top had a ton of scratches and marks made from paint and markers.
I removed the bottom shelf, gave it a good sanding,
and a coat of red spray paint. I decided not to paint
the top because it sanded nicely and painted table tops scratch too easily.
I brushed on a couple of coats of a matte varnish and I was finished.

I thought it would make a great train table.

I'm participating in a link party, Furniture Feature Friday,  on Miss Mustard Seed's blog.
There are a lot of fun furniture makeovers to check out.

Have a great day!

Valentine Banner

Valentine Banner
Banners are so much fun to make! I've been wanting to make one for a while now so I finally sat down and taught myself how to make crepe paper rosettes, cut the triangles, and got busy creating. They're pretty easy to make, especially if you have a lot of scrap paper and trims already at home.

I hope you like them.

I made two of them. One is listed in my Etsy shop
and the other will be at the Mercantile Mall in my space.

Have a great week!

Red

Photobucket

I love the color RED!
I have a little bit in almost every room of my house.
Here are a few of my favorite "red" spots in my home.

I scored a big box of mix matched pieces of red and white transfer ware a few years ago. They are the most used and loved items in my home. I use them during the holidays everywhere....under candles, behind collectables, lining the cabinets, for treats. Whenever I need a little something to finish off a space, I grab a red plate, bowl, cup, etc.

I made this screen for my old home. I needed something to visually separate the living and dining room. This worked perfectly. I've been thinking of repainting it for my new color scheme in my living room. But, believe it or not my 9 year old and my husband protested. They're both very sentimental and get attached to everything. I predict Rowan will be on Oprah someday for a "hoarding" intervention.
