This weeks makeover not only consists of painting an old piece but I also added several pieces together to make it look like one big piece of furniture. I found the buffet at my local St. Vincent DePaul. It was dark and beat up. I added a several coats of white paint and wax. (I always add floor wax to my painted pieces. I like the finish it creates and it helps protect it.) In my process of decorating, I noticed that the mirror was the perfect size. One idea led to another and the next thing you know, I'm adding a shelf and brackets. It has turned out to be a great piece for displaying Holiday items.

I love the pairing of these two pieces. I actually had to look closely, because they fit so perfectly together it looks like they were always meant to be. The white coat of painted makes these pieces so fresh. Nice choice. That's interesting about the wax finish. I've heard a couple of other blogger say they use that method, but I have not tried it myself. Maybe I should! Thanks for linking up. I always enjoy your stuff!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I fixed the typo. I'm not know for my spelling ability, so I really had to look hard to find the mistake. :)
ReplyDeleteI really like this one!! Well done you!

Stephanie, Kudos on this transformation. That is actually what I need for my dining room!!! I would have guessed they were one piece, you definitely have an eye. So my hunt continues for the perfect piece. I have a buffet thingie in my living room holding the flat screen that needs a transformation and I am stuck. I would really appreciate some input, maybe I will have to post it. Have a great weekend.
